About the School
Welcome to the Torquay International School (TIS) website. Since 1972 we have been offering courses in General English and English for Business & Professional Purposes to people aged 16 to 80 from more than 65 countries.
The school is located just a few minutes on foot from Torquay town centre and is surrounded by large gardens and a volley ball court. Our own hotel residence, Club TIS is opposite the school.
We believe passionately in the quality of our school, the courses and the accommodation that we offer to all our clients.

Perhaps the most important aspect of the school is its professional and welcoming staff, many of whom have worked at TIS for between 10, 20 and 30 years.
Everyone is welcome at Torquay International School – our aim is to ensure that everyone who joins a TIS course gets the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their stay with us.
We are proud to say that many of our students and business clients have returned to the school time after time and have recommended us to their family, friends and colleagues. We are now welcoming students from the third generation of some families.
