Judith Hands

Owner and Managing Director Judith Hands joined TIS in 1977 in the days when TIS was a subsidiary of the airline SAS! Judith believes passionately in the quality of the school, the courses and the accommodation that we offer to all our clients. She and the TIS team oversee every aspect of your stay with us in Torquay. It is easy for all of the students to get in touch with Judith or any other member of the school staff. Jan Brady

Jan joined us as a host family in 1980 and became TIS Accommodation and Welfare Manager in 1987. She is responsible for bookings and allocating students to families as well as the recruitment and inspection of all our homestays. Jan is in constant contact with her host families and she monitors their success by talking to students and looking at the regular feedback forms that we give to all our clients. jan@tisenglish.co.uk

Lynne Kingdom

TIS Administration Manager joined TIS in 1981 for work experience – AND SHE’S STILL HERE! Whatever your question, Lynne will answer it for you as soon as possible. She’s an expert on transfers and has a great sense of humour. lynne@tisenglish.co.uk

Adele Lewis

Personal Assistant to Judith Hands. Adele joined TIS in 2007. She is always happy to help in anyway if she can.

Please note Adele is on maternity leave for the time being but hopes to be in the first part of 2011. For those of you who know Adele, she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy on 9th May. His name is Ryan.

Meanwhile James is back in the office for the third summer running and he is doing a lot of Adele's work. Contact him on James@tisenglish.co.uk and you will find he is really helpful.

Dean Rollings

The Director of Studies joined us in May 2007. Dean has a lot of experience in the UK and abroad and is ready to help in any way. Although he is English, Dean also speaks Polish, in fact he was a Director of Studies for some years in Poland before returning to England and choosing to live in Torquay with his family.

John Peter Fellows

TIS Social Manager and universal uncle! Known to all us as JP, he first joined TIS as a teacher in 1982. JP is also a DELTA qualified English Language teacher. JP organises a great Social Programme with a wide range of activities and excursions to suit all ages and tastes. jp@tisenglish.co.uk

22 permanent full and part-time qualified teachers. We have specialists in General English, Cambridge Courses, IELTS, TOEIC and TOEFL. Michael and Gillian pictured above are the Course Leaders for the English for Business and Professional Purposes, and Banking and Finance. We believe there is not a stronger, friendlier, more loyal team of teaching staff anywhere in Britain – four of them joined TIS in 1977 and many others have at least 10-15 years of TIS service! michael-gillian@tisenglish.co.uk

To the right of Michael & Gillian are Adrian and another Gillian - they are just 2 of the team but they both started at TIS in 1976 and apart from occasional breaks they are both still going strong!

Ed Puddeford

Ed is the Club TIS Hotel Manager. He joined TIS early in 2009 when we first bought the Everglades Hotel and re-opened Club TIS. He is also a shareholder and so you can be sure that he is fully committed to making all the Club TIS clients happy and comfortable.

Suzie & Chris Harding

Not only do Suzie & Chris run the lunchtime café at Club TIS, they have also been a TIS host family since 1998. Suzie is a wonderful cook, all her students give her top marks for cooking. We are lucky that she cooks great lunches every weekday at Club TIS. Chris is the Halal Curry Chef!

We can cater for all kinds of diets in the Club Café.

Carol and Heather

Well, this should be a picture of Carol and Heather but they are very shy and are hiding behind the palm trees in the Club TIS Garden. They are our weekend team and do breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays, room changeovers and much more besides. They also provide a laundry service for the hotel guests. Carol and Heather have been looking after us at TIS for many years.

Paola

Paola is the weekday Room Assistant and she started with us in 2009. Paola is Italian but she loves living in Torquay and has made her life here. However, she still goes back to visit her family in Italy from time to time.
