All TIS Homestays abide by British Council Guidelines for Homestay accommodation and are carefully selected by our Accommodation Manager based on several criteria:-
The home must be within walking distance of the School or only 5-10 minutes by bus
It must be clean and comfortable
Bedrooms must be of a suitable size and with a desk or table for private study
The hosts should be friendly, welcoming people willing to share their home
We ensure our Homestay accommodation includes a minimum of a single bedroom (double or twin if sharing), a study table, breakfast, evening dinner and a light lunch at weekends. Your host will provide bed linen and towels, which are changed weekly, and carry out light laundry although you will be expected to do your own ironing. Homestay hosts will also meet students at the local bus or railway station on arrival and take them to the station for departures whenever possible.
When we select your Homestay, we always try to choose a family best suited to your age and requirements. We do not put people of the same mother tongue together in a Homestay (with the exception of Private Homestays) and there is normally a maximum of three guests per family.
