tis Courses for Adults and Seniors - English Language for the 50+
Learning a language is not just for the young. Students at TIS are from all age groups from 16 to 75 and sometimes older. Although we do organise courses for 50+ in groups, we also welcome a lot of older clients in their 40s, 50s and 60s who attend our General English courses or our Intensive English Plus courses.
If you consider yourself one of the "older" learners then you will feel safe joining us here at TIS because you will find there will be others in a similar age group - even in the summer. We have just taken a booking for a gentlemen of 82 for 8 weeks this summer (2010). You will also find it very comfortable if you combine a course with a stay in our hotel across the road - Club TIS Hotel.
This group from Brest in France have had three visits to TIS.
They have a programme of morning classes and afternoon activities and sightseeing excursions arranged for them by our Social Manager. They have 2-3 closed group classes and if any of them have a very different level then those join our standard General English classes.
TIS Intensive English Plus
English Plus is a course which has been designed for our adult clients who are looking for an intensive programmes of English classes, but in the mornings only. It is highly suitable for adults and the 50+ age group who want an intensive course they can combine with a holiday (or even extra afternoon classes). Gertrud (age 61) from Switzerland finished her 12 week course on 24th May 2008. Here is what she said in her farewell card to us:

Tailor-made Group Courses for 50+
If you are a teacher or involved in some way with older people who are learning English, then you will be interested to know that we often “tailor-make” programmes specifically for 50+ and older groups.
These programmes usually last one or two weeks and include morning classes and afternoon cultural activities and sightseeing. Accommodation is arranged in a comfortable nearby hotel or with one of our Homestays who enjoy the company of mature guests.
