Thank you very much for all you have done for me! I felt comfortable and happy in this school. This school is very well organised and when I had some problems everybody was interested in helping me! All the teachers I had were very patient and open-minded, which made it possible for me to learn in a harmonious atmosphere. The excursions and the special events were wonderful & SUPER-ORGANISED!! While we were enjoying them we improved not only our English in a relaxed way, also we were able to get to know each other from all over the world, which was a great experience!

Located in a beautiful and quiet city, TIS offers you the possibility to study English with good teachers and friendly classmates from all over the world. It also offers lots interesting and very entertaining activities out of the school and the city. It’s much better than I expected. (David)

It has really been an incredible experience. The teachers are great, the environment is excellent and the classmates really friendly. But we don’t only learn English, all the different trips that the school organize let us know a lot about British Culture, the castles, history, food etc (Mayo)

Do you have any comments about your accommodation? Everything was fine, very clean. My host family was very polite, chatty and eager to help me with everything.

The classes with Pamela have been really useful to me. She is a very warm and kindly person who made me feel self confident and she is an excellent teacher.

A Chilean Student writes to his Teacher and his Class.

Mayo from Chile wrote to his teacher on his last day at TIS - 15th February 2008. We think it is a remarkable piece of work and we feel very proud of this student and all the other students in his group.

To my Teacher at TIS

Alan (the teacher), when I arrived I thought that the classes would be different. I was expecting them to be very mega intensive learn as much as you can grammar (an extension of my classes in Chile), I was waiting for a teacher who would write all day long and give a lot of homework. What I got was a “one-of-my-kind” teachers who loves jokes, short stories, is concerned about the environment, knows how to use You Tube in an “educational way” and who have everyone of the characteristics to be called Humanist, the most important, to never stop being amused by the human being and everything created by him. You taught me that languages are not grammar rules and correct spelling, but a sense, a way to view the world. Language is live philosophy. You also told me that my way of understanding English wasn’t wrong at all, because I could feel how to link every sentence but I couldn’t explain why, and that upset me (but not any more)and I’m really grateful for that.

The 4 weeks have been incredible and I know it will be impossible for me to ever forget them. So many people, so many places, the fun we had in the classroom…. I’ll never forget you, and I hope you’ll never forget me.

Hiroko was an English Language student at TIS in 1995. She came back again to visit in 2009 and was able to meet up with her teachers and other staff that she remembered. We took the opportunity of videoing her speaking in Japanese about TIS. This testimonial is useful for Japanese students who want to study and lean English in England.
