Monday evening	At TIS	A social evening with the other course parrticipants learning more about Torquay and Devon.
Wednesday evening	Pub Night at the Olde Churston Court Inn	This beautiful old pub in the heart of the South Devon countryside dates from the 12th Century. It is one the most interesting pubs in Britain. Wednesday night is music night with live music.
Saturday all day trip	Exeter and Topsham excursion	Along the coast up the River Exe to the picturesque port of Topsham. Then we go on to the Cathedral city of Exeter for a guided tour.
Sunday	Free day or walking on Dartmoor	This is when you can do your own thing or join Nick on the Great Dartmoor Walk.

Monday Evening	At TIS	All About Agatha. A social evening with a guest speaker who will talk about Agatha Christie, Torquay's most famous daughter.
Thursday Evening	International Food Night	Time for you to do some cooking. This is the night when you do the work and cook up a speciality from your part of the world. Even if you can't cook you can still come along and try different food from around the world.
Saturday	Excursion	Optional excursion perhaps to Stonehenge or Bath or Cornwall.
Sunday	The Great Dartmoor Walk! (Walking boots provided)	Highlight of the week – a walk across Dartmoor with Nick the Dartmoor postman. A fabulous day, a long walk, wonderful stories of Dartmoor. Watch out for the Hound of the Baskervilles – this is where Sherlock Holmes solved his greatest mystery.

Monday Evening	Minibus Mystery Tour	An evening minibus trip to a place of interest in and around Torbay.
Thursday Evening	Barbecue & Volley Ball	Good food great company and Volley Ball on a summer evening at TIS.
Saturday all day	Cornwall – King Arthur country!	A perfect walk along the dramatic Cornish cliffs from Tintagel Castle to Boscastle - treading in the footsteps of Englands' mythical king.
Sunday	The Great Dartmoor Walk	Highlight of the week – a walk across Dartmoor with Nick the Dartmoor postman. A fabulous day, a long walk, wonderful stories of Dartmoor. Watch out for the Hound of the Baskervilles – this is where Sherlock Holmes solved his greatest mystery.

Monday Evening	At the school	A social evening with a guest speaker discussing international business topics or perhaps something a little more lighthearted but always of interest.
Thursday Evening	Pub quiz night	Which team will win a prize this evening at one of our local pubs. Join in with all the other students at TIS for a night of question and answer at our local pub.
Saturday all day	Bath excursion	A guided tour around this stunning Georgian town famous for its architecture, Roman Baths and Victorian Society, or you could spend the day on a local sightseeing trip which we can help to organise for you.
Sunday	The Great Dartmoor Walk	Highlight of the week – a walk across Dartmoor with Nick the Dartmoor postman. A fabulous day, a long walk, wonderful stories of Dartmoor. Nick tells many stories but our favourite is the story about Jay's Grave.

In this short video, TIS Social Manager, John Peter, talks about how the Social Programme helps clients on the Business courses relax in the evenings and at weekends and at the same time improve their social English skills.

Of course you don't have to rush around at the weekend - you could just put your feet up and enjoy the view!

Above are typical examples of the weekly activities at TIS. The programmes change every week and of course are subject to the weather! Clients on the TIS Business English Programmes have two evening activities included in the cost of their course. You are also welcome to join the Saturday or Sunday activities for which there will be a charge.

Marcel Suter catches a blond raty September 2011

September 2011 and Marcel goes deep-sea fishing with JP and 4 other colleauges from the school. This is the Blond Ray he caught. It took 10 minutes to reel this big fish in and then Marcel put the big fish back over the side to swim to freedom and Marcel came back to Torquay and his homework.
